CALLING ALL MULLINGAR RUGBY SUPPORTERS
With the confirmation today, that Dundalk have won the Round Robin competition, Mullingar`s promotion to Div 1B of Leinster League is confirmed. Congratulations to all of our players, coaches and managers. With both the senior men and women`s teams promoted, it has been a really great season so far. We have 2 weeks to the end of the season and still have 7, yes seven semi-finals or finals still to play. In the last week Mullingar have won 3 games by a single point and lost 1 game by a single point. Last Sunday the 20s beat Gorey away 28-27, last night our first`s lost 8-9 to Naas and today the U 13s beat Boyne 13-12 while the U 17s beat Wicklow 36-35.
I would urge all our supporters to come out and get behind all of our teams, as a bit of encouragement can make the difference in a tight game.
First up tomorrow Sunday we have the women in the Cup semi-final at home, in Shay Murtagh Park with a KO at 1.00. The U 20s were due to play Tullow tomorrow, also at home , but Tullow gave a walkover this afternoon. they probably didn't fancy a trip to Mullingar after seeing last Sundays result.
Next Friday evening the 3rds team play the Anderson Cup final in Mullingar against Naas KO is 8.15.
Today with both the U 13s and U 15s winning their Cup semi-finals, both of these squads will be playing in Donnybrook on Youths Cup Final day on Monday May 4th. While this is the fourth year in a row Mullingar`s youth will be playing in Donnybrook on Cup final day, this is I believe the first time that Mullingar will have 2 teams competing on finals day.
also our U 17s have both the 17s Plate final and the final of the 17s Div 1 to play in the next 2 weeks.
So lets get as much support as possible out to all the remaining games, starting tomorrow and make this season even better.
