President James Murphy welcomes you to our Pitch opening.

June 03, 2015

I am really excited about the big day coming up.  We have a lot of people to thank and I will cover this during the opening address. It is great that the first people out on the pitch are our minis; aged from 6 to 12, boys and girls, with their coaches and managers. We chose this because they will see the benefits more than anyone else - no more cancelled training and perfect facilities to learn the game; our first priority as a club is to develop the game of rugby and broaden our community roots. The Special Needs team also have a blitz from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday. We invite all interested parties; players, supporters, club members and friends.

We will have food and drink, music and craic, and of course our very own Joe Schmidt, Head Coach of Ireland, will chat to us from 6pm in the clubhouse about the upcoming World Cup, the Six Nations success and anything else that comes up.

So thank you again to our donors, sponsors, members, and the Department of Sports for all of their support and funding to make this day happen.  Finally, thanks to all who have contributed with their time and skills in making it happen and those who helped prepare for the opening day itself.

Looking forward to welcoming you Saturday June 6th 4.30pm at Shay Murtagh Park.
