Keeping children safe

All

Coaching children at Mullingar RFC requires Garda vetting through the IRFU and Sport Ireland’s Safeguarding 1 course. Both are renewed every three years, and the club keeps a record of where every coach stands and follows up the ones that are due.

We follow the IRFU Safeguarding Policy and the club’s own Child Safeguarding Statement. Both, along with the codes of conduct for coaches, players and parents, are published in full.

Facilities Development Plan2026–2036

The next ten years
at Shay Murtagh Park

A fifth pitch, covered stands with wheelchair access, a centralised equipment store and an indoor training facility — built in three phases, in that order.

1,289members today3,343 by 2036 on current growth
  • Phase 1Put the existing ground right, and cut what it costs to run.
  • Phase 2Cover the terraces, and build what the coaches and the pitches need.
  • Phase 3Grow the ground to match the club, with an indoor facility as the flagship.
