The season proper gets underway this Sunday with Mullingar heading to Co. Carlow to face Tullow in the Leinster Rugby Division 1B League. It's been awhile since these two sides met. The last occasion the two sides battled it out in league competition Tullow shaded the matches gaining the points away and at home. Mullingar having won 2A emphatically the season before last will be hoping the step up to 1B will be a fruitful one and will be hoping to reproduce the form that saw Mullingar play some of the best rugby in recent years. 

It's going to be tough, there's no doubt about that and with last season cancelled, where both these sides are at the moment with regards to players and preparation will only be known late Sunday evening. It's all kicking off at Blackgates at 15.00.
