WICKLOW WILL PROVE A VERY TOUGH TEST THIS SUNDAY

October 04, 2021

MATCH PREVIEW

In recent season's Wicklow have proven a very difficult opponent for our lads having won both home and away the last time both teams were in division 1B. Shay Murtagh Park proved no obstacle to the garden county lads in the past and they'll expect a favourable result when they visit this Sunday. Lying joint top of the table after two rounds with wins away to Longford and home to Tullow, the Wicklow lads have shown a hunger to get back to 1A at the first attempt. Recently Wicklow were runners up in the Leinster League Colm O'Shea Memorial Cup losing out narrowly 42-31 to 1A opposition Seapoint rugby Club.

As for Mullingar, we've yet to register a league point in 1B missing out on two occasions away to Tullow and at home to Carlow last Sunday. It's not that we are playing below our potential it's more a case of finding that shape and fitness that saw us run away with the Leinster 2A and Midlands League titles pre covid.

There's a lot to do in the paddock in preparation for Sunday, and one thing for sure is the lads will give it their all never shirking hard work. So it's a big ask this weekend and you can play your part. Join us this Sunday and get behind the lads.
