Leinster Rugby Squad Brings Excitement to Mullingar with Live Training Session

Mullingar Rugby Football Club is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host a live training session for the esteemed Leinster Rugby squad. This much-anticipated event is part of the Leinster Rugby ’12 County Tour’ which sees Leo Cullen’s team visiting the counties around the province as part of its training schedule over the season.

The open session in Mullingar RFC is set for Monday, February 12th, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, and is open to the entire community, not just club members.

Club President Conall Fitzgerald expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Leinster have been very accommodating in hosting their open training session at a time that allows maximum participation. We’re keenly aware that not all kids have the midterm off, so a 2:30 PM start ensures that as many local rugby fans as possible can watch their heroes train.”

This sentiment is echoed by Denis McDermott, the club's Minis Youth Coordinator, who encourages people from Mullingar and beyond to attend. “We absolutely want as many people as possible to come and support Leinster at this open training session. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and experience top-level rugby right on our doorstep,” McDermott added.

"It’s impressive for a club in a market town to have such top-notch facilities"

Clare O’Brien, the Rugby Development Coordinator, highlighted the timely nature of Leinster's visit, coinciding with the club's recent upgrades. “Our gym and all-weather pitches have been upgraded to world-class standards, mirroring what Leinster is accustomed to. It’s impressive for a club in a market town to have such top-notch facilities,” she noted.

Claire O'Brien Looks forward to Leisnter coming to MullingarClub Vice President Ciaran Murtagh shared his pride in the club's advancements. “Our excellent facilities now match our club's ambitions. We’re delighted and proud that they are more than adequate for a world-class team like Leinster,” Murtagh commented.

This event promises to be a memorable experience for rugby fans of all ages, offering a unique glimpse into the world of professional rugby training. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to connect with the Leinster team and celebrate the spirit of rugby in Mullingar.
