Senior Men Win Big and Move Up a Division

March 09, 2024

MRFC Senior men have made their town and club proud by finishing their season without losing any games. On the cold evening of Friday, 8th March, they played a match against Edenderry RFC and won with a big score of 58-15. This victory was special because it meant Mullingar's team will move to a higher division next year.

The match took place at Shay Murtagh Park and was the last one of the season. Despite the very cold wind, both the team and their fans showed great spirit. The game was close at first, with Mullingar leading by only two points at half-time. But by the end, they had a big lead.

Paul Maxwell, the captain of Mullingar's team, said he was very proud of how his team played all season. He was happy to see them get better at rugby. He also thanked the fans who came out to support them, even in the cold weather.

This win is a big deal for Mullingar's rugby team. Next year, they will play against stronger teams in a higher division. Everyone in Mullingar is excited and proud of their rugby team.
